The best bars in Chamonix
The Chamonix Valley is a renowned location for it’s incredible landscape, as well as the huge variety of extreme sports such as skiing, mountain biking, trail running, and rock climbing to name a few.
However, the town itself has an incredible atmosphere that has attracted thousands of tourists over the years. There are a large number of bars and restaurants that are just waiting to welcome you through their doors. It can be difficult to know where it is best to go.
Here are few of our favourites, with a drink recommendation to match:
Cha’Cha’Cha – Rosé
This unique and stylish wine bar/shop really hits the mark on a summer’s afternoon. They have a huge selection of wines available to take away or enjoy on their sun-soaked patio with a clear view of the Bossons Glacier. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable if you need a hand to choose your wine. https://www.facebook.com/ChaChaChaChamonix/
Chambre Neuf – Jug of Beer
When it comes to après-ski in Chamonix, this is THE bar that comes to mind. Dancing away with ‘No Limits’, the jug gives you a great handle so you can hold your drink at the same time. It is a fantastic atmosphere, so head on over and don’t forget to say ‘Skål’. https://www.langleyhotels.eu/en/our-hotels/hotel-gustavia/
Beckett & Wilde – Guinness
Filled with friendly locals and fantastic staff, this irish pub gives a sense of the close knit community in the valley. They often have big screens pulled for the major sporting events throughout the year, making the place a must for any football or rugby fans, as well as offering local beers and live music throughout the year.

Monkey Bar – Margarita
If you are looking for a trendy spot to enjoy a drink and maybe a bit of food this is the place for you. Inspired by their love of mexican street food, and great tequila this bar is one of the best places to relax and enjoy the seasonaire atmosphere. https://monkeychamonix.com
Social Club – Espresso Martini
Where better to go for a night cap or to carry on the party. Open until 2am with a resident or guest DJ playing most evenings, this is the place to enjoy a killer cocktail and see the wilder side of chamonix nightlife. They have tables sat out on the rue des moulins, so you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the town, as well as a great little terrace overlooking the river and the mont-blanc. https://www.facebook.com/chamonixsocialclub
